Lost Skies is an action adventure game with survival elements. It was developed by Bossa Studios, also responsible for I Am Fish and Surgeon Simulator 2.

Plot

Lost Skies is set in a world ravaged by cataclysms, its only remnants being floating islands. Our hero (or heroine) must set out on a long, dangerous journey across the isles, searching for traces of ancient civilizations once dwelling in the land and learning how they fell. Along the way they face numerous dangers and use ancient technology to survive.

Mechanics

Lost Skies makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP). The game's vast open world is divided into regions, which differ in weather, terrain, flora and available resources. We can travel between the islands aboard an airship, which serves as our vehicle, mobile base and a mighty weapon. We can also directly control our character, have them climb environmental obstacles, use a grappling hook and glide over large distances.

During our journey we'll encounter many enemies. During grounded battles we must stay mobile and use our character's abilities. Aerial battles, on the other hand, require making use of many different weapons; this includes boss fights against often gargantuan opponents.

Throughout the game we gain resources, such as ancient technology, used to modify our equipment and ship. Not only can we change its hull shape and position weapons differently, but even furnish it to our liking. It's up to us whether we'll create a heavy cruiser or a light, agile but less durable ship. When crafting we must pay attention to our resources' properties and, above all, their weight.

Game modes

Lost Skies supports singleplayer and online co-op for up to six players.

Technical aspects

Lost Skies makes use of an appealing, colorful, cartoonish artstyle.
