Special thanks to: @Emir of Granada and @PHZanoniGamer This update was first meant to aim at historical events, but with help of Eddie I am able to add 10+ non-historical paths as well. A total German civil war, with a winning side drastically changing the world politics Not yet, wait for 0.7.5 😉 Ideologies have also been buffed, most notably Socialism and National Socialism. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What we have finished so far A lot of bug fixes have been made as well, from Italy not capitulating to border gore (Which is mostly fixed) Balancing changes have been made for France, Germany and Italy. France and Germany got a slight buff while Italy was nerfed, so now Italy can possibly lose against Abyssinia. New mechanic of requesting help from other nations ( via resources ) has been added which can greatly change the outcome of the Spanish, American or any other civil war in the future. Leaders now have descriptions and some have been buffed, multiple leaders have been added for historical reasons Map of USGW beta 0.7.1 We have added more civilizations to the map to make the game more historically accurate.. We also added new Terrain buffs and debuffs to make it more strategically oriented, with that we also fixed some terrain positions to be more accurate. Provinces bordering rivers give more defense buffs New leader images. Every leader will have new and improved leader images in the future A new mechanic that will be used in the future is two leaders leading one nation, one having more power then the other. For example Yugoslavia, Prince Paul is the main leader until Peter II becomes of age. If you decide to go against the second leader or get rid of him, a civil war supporting the second leader would form. In the case of Yugoslavia, if Paul decides to go Fascist the Serbian army will put Peter II in charge If the Serbian army fails to put Peter II in charge a civil war will start When two leaders lead a nation their buffs merge In case of Andorra they lose the Spanish buffs once the Spanish civil war begins Example images Some leaders like Benito Mussolini proceed to change their appearance after a change of Ideology First image is socialist and second fascist Mussolini Most nations formable via event will have custom flags for different ideologies Example Lithuania-Curonia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What to expect Events will have support for multiple languages, while currently only English in the future Russian, Serbo-Croat and a few more can be expected. Events lasting till 1950 and beyond. After ww2 is done and the allies win, now you will keep most of the territory you conquered if you were on the allied side. ( For example if you won against the Soviets and Germans as Poland, previously you would lose your land, but now you should keep most of it ). Events for most of the countries in the scenario.   3. Overviev I have an, I believe interesting idea, (kinda inspired by Vic3). In Age of history 2, you had a mechanic such as assimilations. I had a problem with it, when i had "unified" Germany. My idea is for making Civilisation group or somewhat of a Nationality Map mode that may affect assimilation. That is, for example, Me (Brandenburg (or some other German state)) have unified North Germany. i have to assimilate the population of Magdeburg, Ulster, Hamburg like i would assimilate Polish or French lands, even though Germans speak the same language and have similar culture it will take as much money and time to unify them under the same banner. Another example would be annexing Mazovia as Poland. Mazovia is not a separate culture, they were only a vassal state, and now i have to get them into my nation? Kinda problematic if you ask me. This thing would also improve a lot the roleplaying as a unifier thing for a bunch of people, myself included. Mechanics idea Assimilating enough of one's province may change their nationality. In the editor, we may paint the borders of major nationality In the editor, we may add nations to the same nationality by dragging each nation to the new group, like you do in AoH2 alliances. Same nationality gives huge boost in assimilating population Before researching nationalism the boost wouldn't be that great, as people didn't care that much about their nationality. Possible Problems I see a problem though, that it may cause lag, if implemented badly *Cough cough* Vic3, Vic3, so yeah. Major mechanic might be long to implement Over huge period of time, people have migrated, implementing that would cause lag I would like to hear some feedback about it. it is a major mechanic, and since it is just one month till launch i don't know if there is enough time for it. In the attachment i have an alternate scenario where after WW2 Germany got split. although different nations, they are the same people, so re-integrating territories shouldn't be that big of a problem.   6. I made this scenario back in June using the Age of Imperialism map and made some of the civs myself. It isnt 100% accaurate since I skipped some civs on purpose, those like Indian kingdoms, some African tribes/monarchies, small British colony, etc. I made the color pallets myself too South America Peru-Ecuatorian border is a bit wonky due to the ongoing war + Ecuatorian civil war. Bolivia has twice the size than it has now, Paraguay is bigger too. Chile and Argentine Confederation are split in half due to the Mapuches occupying Patagonia. The Argentine Confederation is at an ongoing civil war too with Buenos Aires. Colombian (Grenadine) civil war is imminent while not yet added to the map, Venezuela is in another civil war too. Central America Mexico is going through not one, but two wars, Reform and Caste wars. Central America still has a bit of colonial influence left over, British Belize and Miskito, + the Caribbean islands. And Spain with Cuba, Puerto Rico and soon, Dominican Republic. United States The United States, while it may seem full on some maps, its still hollow in the Mid-west due to the tribes left. Next year wont really be a good one for the U.S. Canada Canada wasnt one much of its history, Hudson Bay and (Province of) Canada would be the main colonies in my opinion. Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia arent shown due to British Arctic Territories. Nothing much really happens in Canada in the 1860s, other than the confederation of Canada coming soon. Europe While called the "Peaceful Continent", Europe hasnt been such in this century overall. Austria started its losing streak with Sardinia and gave up Milan and Tuscany. Two countries started the process of unification of their people's regions; Sardinia and Prussia. Prussia and Austria got into tensions over who is the real German power, and will soon get into a war in 1866. Ever since the Crimean war, Russia started dealing less with European conflicts and focused on its war with Circassia and Qing. France, now being an empire, would prepare its invasion of Mexico of the next year. Let me know if you see anythings wrong in the images or descriptions, will post Africa and Asia tomorrow.
