Just making a thread to document my survival world. I've always been a mulitplayer person and haven't had a singleplayer world since 2012, today I'm making one.
Seed: 1691256543523180978
Found this perfect cherry blossom ring seed on google... Turns out the spot from the picture is at x12037 y109 z1383, so I'm gunna have to hunker down at spawn for a while. I'll get a tamed horse and travel to the nether to make a path, no way I'm walking 13k blocks from spawn.
Apparently there is a village at 11,980, 1,400 too.
Things are going good so far, I found some exposed iron and coal near an abandoned nether portal. I made flint and steel out of the iron and lit the portal, there was 3 obsidian in the chest next to the portal which was enough to finish it's construction. I have a lit nether portal and I haven't even been underground yet.
All or nothing! Especially after showing what you're working with. The forums demand constant, detailed updates!
(Just kidding, but I sort of offer that as advice if you do want to commit to it, because "partial commit" doesn't work as well for these sorts of threads.)
13 thousand blocks isn't really that long. I recall going around 3 thousand blocks from spawn in a number of my long-term worlds, and that was about a day (not day plus night, but just day) of travel. So that's like, a bit over four times as long, or four to five days. Getting up there, yes, but I'd say it's realistic enough if you really like a particular spot. Though, if it's not a hardcore world, I'd definitely want to make a nether-side route for if you ever end up back at spawn from dying or something.
Alternatively, you can look up random seeds here pretty fast to cut down on time to maybe find one with something like that near spawn. It has a feature on the bottom to find a seed with a given biome within a given range of spawn, so just choose cherry grove. If I was actively playing right now, and in need of a new world, that's what I'd use (especially since my last many worlds were hardcore where I forced myself to use whatever was randomly given me).
I tried searching for a few, but finding rings of them wasn't as easy as I thought. The closest one I found was this seed after around five minutes of searching, though compared to the one you showed, the flat area in the center is smaller and there's no small lake (it does seem to have a lot of biome variety, with both extreme hot and cold regions, near spawn).
I wouldn't be surprised if you can do a web search on something like "Minecraft cherry grove ring near spawn" and find others have already found and shared some.
