Banquet for Fools PC

Banquet for Fools is a classic RPG game, reminiscent of the genre 's greats, led by the first installments of the Baldur's Gate and Divinity series. The production was developed by the independent two-person studio Hannah and Joseph Games, whose portfolio includes the Serpent in the Staglands project set in the same universe.

The plot of

Banquet for Fools takes us to a fantastic land, or more precisely - to the island of Invimona, colonized by the subjects of a certain lord in order to grow expensive spices on the slopes of the hills covering it. When the inhabitants of one of the farms stop showing signs of life, the mighty lord decides to send a four-person expedition to investigate. During the gameplay, we become the head of the team that takes on this challenge.

Gameplay

In Banquet for Fools we watch the action in an isometric view. We begin the game by creating a team, deciding, among other things, on the race, gender and appearance of each of its members, as well as giving them names and archetypes (or setting their statistics ourselves).

The adventure takes us through various locations on Invimon. Traversing them (on foot or aboard a boat, which allows us to cross local rivers and sail on the sea), we get to know the inhabitants of this piece of land and perform various tasks for them. Our clients may include farmers, scribes or craftsmen, who have to deal with, for example, cemetery hyenas plundering tombs.

Of course, we often have to reach for weapons here. Clashes take place in real time, and at our disposal is an active pause, after activation of which we can choose the objectives and actions taken by individual characters. We can control only one member of the team at a time, while the game allows us to switch freely between them. In turn, control over the remaining characters is exercised by the artificial intelligence, which behaves according to the rules we set in the formation menu.

As we progress, we develop our characters; various skills and spells can be improved on our own (we can count on various bonuses for the most frequently used abilities) or by using the services of teachers. In addition, over time we accumulate increasingly powerful equipment (led by weapons and armor).
