Battlefield 2042 Got New Weapons and Chat Redesign

The first major update for Season 4 has arrived to Battlefield 2042. In addition to the standard fixes, it introduced several new features and changes to the game, which included important game systems.

DICE is not thinking about abandoning Battlefield 2042. A new update has arrived to the game, which in addition to a number of fixes and changes in the gameplay balance, introduced new weapons.

Today's update for BF 2042, numbered 4.1.0, is the first major patch to come out as part of the ongoing season 4.

Update 4.1.0 - general notes

What does the new patch introduce to BF 2042? The list of changes that the latest update brings to Battlefield 2042 is quite extensive. In addition to getting rid of bugs and numerous changes in balance the game received, among others, three new weapons, and the chat and armor system received a makeover..

Here's a condensed list of changes and new features that came to BF 2042 in build 4.1.0:

  1. new weapons: AEK 971, RPK-74M & MP443;
  2. text chat improvements (new design, changes in background opacity, changes in color formatting);
  3. changes to the IBA armor plate system (armor will only cover a character's torso from now on, instead of providing protection for the entire body);
  4. improvements to the infiltration device - X6;
  5. improvements to the OV-P reconnaissance drone;
  6. changes to the mastery progression of specialists;
  7. bug fixes;
  8. balance of specialists (Angel, Blasco, Casper, Dozer, Falck, Irish, Zain);
  9. minor sound improvements and fixes.
