A new chapter in the Diablo saga will soon be available to players. After public testing and the unveiling of a gigantic list of changes, the developers focused on an area that hasn't received much attention in articles and videos so far: the story. The first details of the plot of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred have been revealed in a new video.

WARNING: the rest of the text contains spoilers from Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. You are reading at your own responsibility!

In the video "The Next Chapter," the developers mentioned the fall (or breakup) of the supporters of the Cathedral of Light and the conflicted groups that arose from its ruins. In this, in the new sect of Burning Knights, whose members will be chasing the characters known to fans: Loratha and Neyrelle. The second hero will also have to face the nightmarish hallucinations caused by the close presence of Mephisto - a taste of which we could see in the trailer.

The story will therefore present a race against time: Neyrelle will try to banish Mephisto before he takes control of her. However, this will be a challenge beyond her strength and the player-controlled hero will have to find her - preferably before the girl becomes the titular vessel of hatred.

For more information, refer to the Blizzard video.
