It will be eight years since the release of No Man's Sky this year. However, the developers do not stop developing the game. Proof of this is the major Omega update released today.

Most of you can probably remember 2016 and the "big" premiere of No Man's Sky. From the very beginning, the production of the Americans was widely promoted in the media, but initially its reception left much to be desired.

A great disappointment, caused by a multitude of errors (collisions, random game crashes, or simply a lack of refinement of many elements) and the developers' failure to keep their promises, led to the game being massacred by the players. All this is well illustrated in this video.

We are at a point where this production is really doing great and is constantly being developed.Today, quite unexpectedly, it received a major update 4.5 called Omega. It introduced the titular expedition, additional missions, another ship (pirate battleship), as well as a host of minor changes and corrections. You can find the full list of updates here.

It's worth adding that this weekend everyone will be able to check No Man's Sky out for free - both on PC and consoles.

Like a phoenix rising

After almost eight years since the release of No Man's Sky, we can say that the game has risen like a phoenix from the ashes. Numerous updates, a wealth of fresh content, and above all, the return of trust from players have strengthened the reputation of Hello Games studio.

Late last summer, the game received the Echoes expansion, which added a new robotic race, ships, weapons, and most importantly, a fresh story. Today, Sean Murray, CEO of Hello Games studio and one of the main designers, suggested that No Man's Sky will receive another major update.

For a moment, you could even think that we would have three or four more big patches for No Man's Sky. This may have been indicated by the empty spaces and the omega symbol in Murray's tweet (see screenshot below). However, it turned out that the developer was "counting down" to the publication of information about the Omega update.

The history of this game should serve as an example that it's worth investing the effort after a botched release. Among the recent reviews of the production on Steam, as many as 91% are positive. Now there might be even more of them appearing.
