The studio itself has not officially announced a refresh of the game, but if the leak is true, we may receive new information from the brand's developers in the near future.

It is worth mentioning in passing that Gematsu recently wrote about a fan refresh of the title. Professional developers have prepared a non-playable version of Final Fantasy IX, known as Memoria Project and powered by Unreal Engine 5. The effects of their work can be seen in the extensive footage that was recently shared on YouTube.

For the first time Final Fantasy IX was released to gamers in 2000 for the original PlayStation.
