Players point out the improvements over previous installments, as well as the many new features and original vehicles to repair.

Below we quote some comments from Steam:

"Great game! If you love mechanic sim games like tank mechanic simulator or If you liked CMS 2018, you'll love this one. Performance is also better than CMS 2018, which i apprechiate. Most important, you also get a proper tutorial this time, which explains all functions. Very helpful for beginners or when you need a refresher!"

"Improved over CMS2018 in almost everyway, feels like a properly polished game. New mechanics remove bits of rng, and put things more in your hands. While not an important thing to a game about being a car mechanic, the driving is vastly improved. If you don't like doing the same thing over and over this will never be your type of game, but for those that like a relaxing way to kill time, it's the best CMS to date hands down."

"CMS 2021 is decent enough at what it does. It's more of a "replace this rusty part sim" than a true mechanic simulator. I've played CMS since 2015 and while it has gotten more in depth since, it's also still very lightweight compared to what mechanic work in real life is. This game is useful for teaching you WHERE parts are but the procedures for removing them are generally wrong. While cars are just nuts and bolts, there's more to it than just removing and replacing. For instance, if you ever have to replace a cam, you will NEVER use the old cam caps, (and 99% of the time, a tapping from the valve train doesn't require cam replacement) You wont change just one spark plug, you wont replace a caliper but re-use and old caliper piston, replacing subframe bushings are a lot more involved than just removing a bolt. As a real life technician, feel free to use CMS as a light learning experience but please do not take this game as 100% true as doing things IRL the way you do in game WILL cause major problems with your car.

As a game, CMS2021 is absolutely entertaining to play and has several improvements over its previous iteration. I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who enjoys games of this type."
