This year's Avaloq Community Conference concluded with a special presentation for our Swiss-based clients, hosted by our Managing Director for #Switzerland and #Liechtenstein, Georges Roten. In his speech, Georges reiterated our unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. During a panel discussion, our Head of Client Management, Chris Z., and Florentin Herold, Head of Web and Mobile Banking at Avaloq, explored the critical role of digital banking channels in enhancing client communication and engagement. Chris then shared an update on our progress in our Voice of Customer initiative, and emphasized the importance of feedback for continuous improvement. They were followed on the stage by Ekaterina Emelianova, Chief Financial Officer of TradeXBank, who shared her first-hand experience working with Avaloq. At the end of the presentations, we invited our clients and partners to a drinks reception, offering a unique opportunity to network and experience our new flight simulators, all while enjoying music by Appenzeller Echo. The afternoon of the Avaloq Community Conference was dedicated to the theme of #innovation. Melissa Mumlek, Domain Head Mobile Banking, opened the session with insights into the latest advancements in mobile banking at Avaloq. She highlighted the benefits of simpler development and #integration of new features along with enhanced #accessibility for users of all abilities. She was followed by Dr. Nils Bulling, Head Digital Assets, who discussed the future of #DeFi and distributed ledger technology in wealth management. He showcased how Avaloq enables traditional financial institutions to offer trading and custody of #crypto assets, bridging the worlds of traditional and decentralized finance. Dominik Schaffhauser, Senior Domain Lead Functional Frameworks, introduced Web Workplace, our latest user interface for the middle and back office. This web-based #UI for Avaloq Core offers a superior user experience, with native web features and enhanced operability. Claudio Casoli, Domain Head Integration and Output, then took to the stage to discuss the Business Event Grid. He emphasized the importance of standard adapters for real-time data streaming and synchronization, enabling advanced data analytics and improved integration. Lior Leibovich, Head of #AI Lab, provided an insightful introduction to Avaloq’s approach to artificial intelligence and its use cases for wealth management. He explained how Avaloq focuses on improving efficiency and quality, ensuring ethical and responsible delivery of AI-based solutions. The afternoon session ended with a joint presentation by our Chief Banking Operations Manager Roberto Viganò and Roberto Baldessari, General Manager NEC Laboratories Europe GmbH. They took a deeper dive into the real-world applications of #GenAI in banking operations and corporate actions, while highlighting Avaloq’s collaboration with NEC. Today, we welcome our clients, partners and colleagues to the Avaloq Community Conference 2024 in #Zurich. This year marks the 9th edition of our community conference, reflecting nearly a decade of knowledge-sharing and collaboration. The morning session started with a keynote address by NEC Corporation President and CEO Takayuki Morita, who outlined our key initiatives for the coming months and beyond, including our ongoing #cloud transformation, #AI initiatives and our successful partnership with Aladdin. He was followed by our CEO Martin Greweldinger, who reflected on Avaloq’s achievements in the past year and the latest updates to our offering. He then shared his insights into current industry trends, including the growing demand for alternative investments and for personalized financial services that align with investors' values. During an insightful panel discussion, Fabian Grande, Head of Wealth Products at Avaloq, and Venu Krishnamurthy, Global Head of Aladdin Wealth, BlackRock, discussed how financial institutions can integrate legacy systems and modern applications, and shared their highlights from the first year of our partnership. Our Chief Technology Officer Martin Büchi then took to the stage to update our community on Avaloq's cloud transformation journey, which offers our clients a shorter time-to-market for new services, enhanced flexibility and availability, with banking-grade security. We have successfully rolled out our digital asset platform at our longstanding client Zürcher Kantonalbank in partnership with Fireblocks. Avaloq enables digital asset trading, settlement and custody, while ensuring that financial institutions can efficiently manage risk, optimize transaction costs and comply with regulations. Our platform is available to banks and wealth managers regardless of whether they run their core banking systems on-premises or in a SaaS model. In an interview, our Regional Director and Head of South Asia Vibhooti Chaturvedi discussed the digital strategies to help wealth managers in #Malaysia. Vibhooti highlighted Malaysia's economic stability and growing wealth, which have resulted in increased competition in the wealth management space and higher client expectations for innovative services. Yesterday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting our summer football tournament with clients and partners. Wealth managers face significant delays in client onboarding, with processes often taking over three months for ultra-high net worth clients, according to Avaloq’s wealth industry report. In an article with FT Adviser, our Managing Director for the UK and Ireland Suman Rao explains how these delays can negatively impact the client experience and a firm’s operational efficiency. She highlights how manual intervention is a particular pain point in the UK market – with over 90% of the relationship managers we surveyed stating that simplifying or automating onboarding would greatly support their roles.
