Imagine if every creator could have their own growth team... That’s what I thought when I joined Patreon. Creators wear many hats – video editor, podcast producer, social media marketer,  community manager, etc. They deserve to work a little less and earn a lot more. Last year, we introduced a new era of Patreon, where we made it possible for creators to welcome their fans without a paid membership and enabled commerce as a new revenue stream. During that process, we also redesigned every single part of the funnel — creator pages, checkout, registration, and more – testing and learning to see what would accelerate creators’ earnings. What would “give creators a raise”, as we say here :) Today, I'm proud to share our latest series of products for creators, that have demonstrated a clear impact on their growth. 💸 Sell Posts & Collections: Creators can now earn more from their work letting fans purchase individual posts and collections without committing to a recurring membership. 🚀 Automated Promotions: Creators can now send automated discounts offers to their free members to encourage more upgrades to paid subscriptions. 🗣 Creator Recommendations: Now, all creators can give a shoutout to their favorite creators and get recommended back, helping each other’s communities grow. 🔎 Explore Tab: We redesigned the Search page so that anyone can discover creators based on their interests. 📊 Free Membership Insights: Creators now have clearer insights into free membership growth, particularly the number of free members upgrading to paid. Why I joined a Patreon as a creator in 2024 🧠 1. Community - More than ever, algorithms determine what we see based on our subconscious actions. That means even the most dedicated members of our communities can miss the things we are posting online. Patreon serves as a place that is built specifically so our community can stay in touch with what we are doing, as well as with each other. 2. Content - I've built a brand off of a pretty identifiable series and format. It's a format that works great on algorithm-based platforms, however I know the core of my community wants more. They want to get to know me better, and they're willing to digest less polished content that allows for that. Posting on Patreon allows me to share more with them without worrying about performance. 3. Sustainability - This one is the most important for me. I've wanted to make videos online since I was 13 and as I get older I find myself transitioning from a desire to grow a larger audience to wanting to create longevity in this career. But I've always had a mental back and forth with "taking" money from the people who support me and It wasn't until I had a conversation with Hayley Rosenblum that it clicked. She told me "It's about ALLOWING that core community to support you because they truly want to and they are looking for more ways to be involved".
