Rockstar Games have released the first trailer for the hotly anticipated GTAVI. I for one, can't wait to see what the teams at Rockstar have been cooking up for us in the latest installment of one of the all-time great game franchises. Although like everyone else we will have to wait until 2025 to get our hands on the game. So naturally I started to wonder, what will the next GTA have install for us and will there be any novel features for us gamers to enjoy? One thing I can't help but think about is a "custom radio station." We all have our favourite radio stations in the GTA games with some classic tunes belting along as we drive around the fictional cities of the GTA universe. But with Web 3.0 technology and music NFT's from major artists such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, deadmau5, and many more, perhaps we could see the first major crossover for the NFT owners who can curate their own collection to suit their mood as they embark upon the exciting underworld of Vice city? I can't wait for this one personally, and fully expect it to break all sales records previously set by GTAV.

Christmas has come early for Grand Theft Auto fans. On Monday, Take-Two Interactive $TTWO released a trailer for its highly anticipated GTA VI. GTA VI is scheduled for release in 2025 and is expected to contribute significantly to Take-Two's revenue by building on the success of GTA V. GTA V is the second highest selling video game after Minecraft and has sold over 190 million copies since its debut in 2013. A TweakTown study found that since GTA V's release in 2013, the GTA franchise has generated more than $8.33 billion in revenue. In fiscal year 2023, revenues from GTA products will be around $781 million (14.6% of Take-Two Interactive's total net revenue of $5.349 billion). This figure includes sales of various versions of GTA V, the remaster of the GTA trilogy and in-game purchases of Grand Theft Auto Online.

A large topic with the Newzoo PC & Console Gaming Report is the dominance of established brands in the gaming market. However, with working in the Independent video game environment for awhile, there is always the knowledge that older brands may not take the same risks new brands do to avoid brand damage. The report for 2024 covers that topic quite well that new brands, like Ready or Not, that offer a unique or bold perspective can begin to establish roots where audiences are looking for a revitalization or more modern take on the genre.
