Company of Heroes 3 Developed in Cooperation With Modders

Company of Heroes 3 should receive the first mods already on release day. The game's developers are consulting the work with modders and many of them have already received access to the tools.

Relic has boasted that Company of Heroes 3 will offer strong support for mods on launch day.

  1. The developer has prepared powerful tools to create new maps and other modifications.
  2. Selected modders were part of a group of fans with whom consultation began before the game's development began in earnest.
  3. Many modders have had access to the tools for a long time and are already working on their projects. Therefore, Relic expects that on the day of release players will be able to download the first modifications.
  4. Even now, the modding tools are pretty advanced, enabling users to modify gameplay and create new maps and modes. However, Relic wants to expand them all the time, so that they will eventually enable the fans to make new campaigns and projects that thoroughly rework virtually every element of the game.
  5. If any fan-made map proves to be very popular, there are good chances that it will be added to the list of official battlefields. This is nothing new for the series, as the same was the case with Company of Heroes 2.

Recall that Company of Heroes 3 is heading exclusively to PC. The release is scheduled for February 23, 2023..

It is also worth mentioning that recently there have been credible rumors suggesting that console versions of the game are in the pipeline. In the database of the Taiwanese age-rating agency, mentions were found of releases of CoH3 for the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

These types of sources are rarely wrong, so we expect that the announcement of a console version of Company of Heroes 3 is only a matter of time.

Noteworthy mods for earlier installments of Company of Heroes:

While waiting for the release of CoH3 we can enjoy fan modifications to previous installments. In the case of Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts we recommend:

  1. Battle of the Bulge - recreates the battles of Belgium and Luxembourg during the winter period from December 1944 to January 1945.
  2. Battle of Crete - lets you take part in the Battle of Crete, which took place between May 20 and June 1, 1941.
  3. Europe at War - A large mod, introducing a lot of new maps set in Africa, Italy, Normandy and the Netherlands. The project offers a heavily improved destruction system and many additional units and vehicles.
  4. Far East War - a modification focusing on the battles between Chinese and Japanese forces in 1937-1945.
  5. The Great War 1918 - a total conversion that moves the game's action to the reality of World War I.

In turn, those who own Company of Heroes 2 should check out:

  1. Iron Hearts - A single-player campaign set in Switzerland.
  2. The Advanced Powers - introduces futuristic units to the game in the style of those from the series Wolfenstein.
  3. The Living Dead - adds a survival mode in which we must defend ourselves from hordes of zombies.
  4. Wikinger: European Theater of War - strongly increases the historical realism of multiplayer skirmishes.
