Ghostwire: Tokyo PC With Denuvo; DRM Broke the Game [UPDATE]

Ghostwire: Tokyo is now available on Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game by Tango Gameworks has also appread in the Game Pass libraty. What's more, the game has also received a sizable update.

With the release of the game in Game Pass and the release of The Spider's Thread update Denuvo was introduced to the PC version of the game - a year after its official release.

The information did not please the players (this is shown by a a influx of negative reviews on Steam), especially since in some of them it caused various problems of technical nature. The game is also said to run worse on Steam Deck.

There are suggestions that Denuvo is meant to protect the game from leaking the free content of The Spider's Thread.

Last March, we saw the release of Ghostwire: Tokyo. The work of Tango Gameworks was warmly received by both gamers and industry reviewers. Unfortunately, the owners of Xbox Series X/S consoles were at a disadvantage, because the horror game was available only on PC and PS5.

However, according to the principle of "what goes around comes around", the game finally lost its temporary exclusive status and opened to Microsoft platforms. In addition, Ghostwire: Tokyo is also available on Game Pass (PC and Xbox) as of today..

The Xbox console edition has already been reviewed (it has an average rating of 84/100) and is generally praised, although there are complaints about the poor optimization of this release, particularly on open maps. We also recommend taking a peek at how it compares to the PS5 edition (courtesy of the ElAnalistaDeBits channel):

The Spider's Thread update - a handful of novelties.

The good news doesn't end there. To celebrate the game's release on Xbox Series X/S consoles, it has received additional content. The free update titled The Spider's Thread introduces roguelite mode, new enemies, skills, maps and additional side missions, among others, on all platforms..

In addition Ghostwire: Tokyo received an expanded storyline and an improved photo mode. Also interesting is the appearance of the Reduced Horror Effects option, thanks to which certain horror elements are replaced by charming visual effects.

Below you can watch the trailer showing The Spider's Thread in action.
