The multiple award-winning Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive the much-anticipated, large Patch 7 in September (supposedly it won't be the last), which will introduce, among other things, an official modding tool. For this reason, the developers are working hard on the so-called "toolkit," and the modders themselves help them by participating in closed tests.

In today's post from Larian Studios, we learned some opinions from mod authors who developed one of their projects with the support of this tool. By the way, we saw screenshots that are supposed to prove how much the toolkit will improve the comfort of working on mods.

I really love making CC colours in the toolkit, as a visual person, being able to visually see my changes in the Toolkit by utilising the Character Visuals and switching the preset to view mine... it's beyond words -- Padme4000.

Another mod creator participating in the tests, TechRoot, also focused on colors. He pointed out that he previously had to write the project in the form of code. However, this has changed thanks to the "toolkit."

FaerunColors is a small mod that, despite being almost entirely visual, had to be written entirely in code. [...] Now, the toolkit allows me to select exactly the colour I want, where I want it, and see how another thousand colours I hadn't even thought of do look. I'm no longer writing; now I'm painting -- TechRoot.

Hopefully, the official modding tool will work as well as the mentioned modders claim. Although if it comes from under the wings of Larian Studios, we can be pretty sure of that.

Finally, we would like to remind you that registration for tests to check all changes from Patch 7 is still ongoing. If you want to participate in them, sign up by clicking the appropriate button on the game card on Steam. The closed beta will start on July 22nd.
