The first rumors about Ubisoft's work on a new installment of the Ghost Recon series appeared two years ago, but only recently have we received more specific info about it. According to renowned industry insider Tom Henderson, the next Ghost Recon may be released around 2025-2026.

  1. Henderson has confirmed that the consecutive installment of Ghost Recon is being developed under the working title "Project Over."
  2. The devs are to return to the first-person view (present, among others, in the first installment from 2001).
  3. Reportedly, the game will be a tactical shooter, drawing inspiration from the most popular FPP shooters. These include the sub-series Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the Battlefield series, or even Ready or Not.
  4. The action is to be set in the south-eastern country, where the fictional Naiman War is taking place. According to the reports, our goal will be to infiltrate the conflict-affected area to conduct "secret missions" and identify the "traitor."
  5. Controversial scenes are also expected to appear in the game. For instance, our team is supposed to be a hair's breadth away from shooting a man with a child in his arms because they think he is actually holding a bomb.
  6. Interestingly, Henderson saw a fragment of the gameplay of the next Ghost Recon. The journalist observed a notable enhancement in the graphics compared to the previous releases of the series. Apparently, the visual presentation quality can be likened to the aforementioned Ready or Not, which was released in 2023.

Let's remind that the previous installment of the series Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon from Ubisoft - titled Breakpoint - hit the market in 2019. However, it wasn't well received by reviewers and players, as confirmed by the ratings on Metacritic. The average score from 59 critics for this title on PlayStation 4 is only 56 out of 100.
