Spartans, we have a huge update for you today! The Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition is out now, bringing an incredible raft of improvements for Ray Tracing capable GPUs, including 60 FPS, Field of View options, DLSS 2.0 and loads more. It will blow your boots off. And what’s more, it is a free entitlement to current owners, so extensive in fact, we couldn’t deliver it as a patch. Check out all the tech specs and details here.
Plus, we can finally announce that the Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 version of Metro Exodus will be zip lining onto your consoles on June 18. Utilising the power of these new consoles, we have been able to include 4K*, 60 FPS, Ray Tracing throughout (including Ray Traced emissive lighting as pioneered in The Two Colonels), Field of View options and platform specific features such as spatial audio and controller latency improvements on Xbox, and support for the haptic features of the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller. This will also be a free upgrade for current owners, but for those of you who haven’t taken the leap into our gorgeous post-apocalyptic world yet, we will also be releasing a physical Metro Exodus Complete Edition for Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One and PS5, which will include the main game and all expansions in one boxed package. Check with your local retailer for pre-orders and pricing details.

How do I download Metro Exodus PC Enhanced?
Please note – the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition requires Ray Tracing capable hardware as the minimum spec – please check the PC Specs chart for more information.
The Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition free entitlement is based on what you already own, e.g. you need to own the expansions to be entitled to the PC Enhanced versions of those expansions.
Epic Games Store:
- If you have already purchased or own Metro Exodus, you should see a separate Library Item for the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition. If you are new to Metro Exodus, purchase the game (this will entitle you to both PC Enhanced and standard versions of the game)
- Install Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition
- After download, please launch the title as you would a normal EGS title.
Steam:
- If you have already purchased or own Metro Exodus, you should see a separate Library Item for the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition, if you are new to Metro Exodus, purchase the game (this will entitle you to both PC Enhanced and standard versions of the game)
- Install Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition
- After download, please launch the title as you would a normal Steam game.
GOG:
- If you have already purchased or own Metro Exodus, you will already have access in your library. This will appear as a separate title in your library.
- For Galaxy users
- You need to activate beta channel for the PC Enhanced Edition. In order to do so open your Galaxy library and select the game; from there click on the Customization button (mceclip1.png), then select “Manage Installation“ > “Configure...”. You will see a section called “INSTALLATION” - click on beta channels and choose ""Name_of_the_branch_here"". If you have already installed Metro Exodus, the game will now update. If you didn't have Metro Exodus already installed, install the game as you would normally do in GOG Galaxy.
- For non Galaxy users:
- Go to your library and download the separate offline installer under ""Download offline backup game installers"" section.
- After installation/updating is complete, please launch the title as you would a normal GOG Galaxy purchase.
Microsoft PC Store:
- For new owners:
- When purchased, two games will be added to your library, the standard and the PC Enhanced Edition, you can choose which version to install from your library.
- Launch the title as you would a normal Microsoft PC Store title.
- For existing owners:
- Claim the free Metro Exodus PC Enhanced version from the Microsoft PC Store to download.
- Launch the title as you would a normal Microsoft PC Store title."
*4K visuals available only on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S will run at 1080p whilst maintaining 60 FPS.
