On our "backroad only" Oregon adventure we decide to take a detour to the ghost town of Kent. Kent is on Highway 97 and this abandoned eatery and gas station is only a couple of metres from the roads fog line. The sign promoting refreshing and delicious Orange Crush still stands on the café roof and is in excellent condition.
I guess size does not always matter, case in point, this bird... a crown is a crown, no matter how prominent it is.
The orange moon is also called the “Harvest Moon”.
Farmers in the old times used to rely a lot on the orange moon during the autumn. That is because it used to be the harvest season and the orange moon bought the farmers some extra time.

This male Orange-crowned Warbler just spotted a caterpillar, and is about to snatch and feed it to his junior. The juvenile is shown in the next picture.

The Gulf fritillary - female, (Agraulis vanillae) or passion butterfly is a bright orange butterfly of the family Nymphalidae and subfamily Heliconiinae. Its underwings are buff, with large silvery spots. It takes its common name from its migration over the Gulf of Mexico. Flower is Lantana near my home in Fairfield Harbour, NC
