In Farming Simulator 19 you have to take good care of your field in order to get the highest possible yield.

In this section, we will summarize the factors that affect field performance in Farming Simulator 19. These are the following factors:

  1. Periodic ploughing - every third harvest you have to plough the field - this is an option that can be disabled in the game settings. The field that requires ploughing will be marked on the map in red. If you do not do this when it is necessary, the harvest will be 15% lower.
  2. Using lime - every third harvest, fertilize the field with lime. This is an option that can be turned off in the game settings. The field requiring the use of lime is marked on the map in blue. Also, you must use lime in any self-developed/expanded field. If you do not do this, the harvest will be reduced by 15%.
  3. Weed control - use a weeder or a weed killer spray at any stage of weed growth, but before harvesting. If the field is not yet planted, ploughing and cultivation will also destroy weeds. Additionally, you can turn off weeds in the game options. Leaving the weeds to the last stage and harvesting them together with plants reduces the yield by 20%.
  4. Fertilization - the key factor - the soil should be fertilized twice during cultivation: during sowing or planting, or during the first phase of growth; a second time in the subsequent growth phases, but before the plants are ready to be harvested. The type of fertilizer used does not affect the level of the harvest. Each fertilization improves the yield by 25% (50% max).
