Idaho Spuds Conclusion

It’s been almost a month since we announced the Idaho Spuds World of Trucks event. This unique event was a celebration of the 1st anniversary since our Idaho DLC release, where drivers had the opportunity to earn rewards by completing personal and community goals while having the chance to also drive the famous Big Idaho Potato truck and trailer - used to advertise Idaho potatoes throughout the United States.

Although the set goals were challenging, our #BestCommunityEver managed to not only meet their personal goals but nailed the community goal of 200,000 deliveries in no time at all! Fun fact, if every delivery was one potato, we would end up having over five million french fries. That’s a lot of fries!

Unfortunately, after so much driving, the event must come to end; so start the final drum roll and let us take a look at some of the more precise stats that you achieved whilst you were #HaulingSpuds.

Incredible work truckers! We cannot thank you enough for your support. It really does bring a lot of joy to our team to see how much you enjoy participating in these events. We hope you will ride with pride with your newly acquired Idaho-themed accessories which you have earned.

The reach of our community extends far beyond the borders of Idaho. You were also busy posting about your adventures with the hashtag #HaulingSpuds to our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages, while also creating amazing content on Youtube and Twitch. We absolutely enjoyed seeing your reactions to the "stylish" trailer and using it on your journeys.

We are grateful for your excitement and effort to take part in this event and hopefully, we’ll see you on the road with another World of Trucks event soon!

Idaho Spuds Event

We are celebrating the 1st anniversary since our Idaho DLC release, by highlighting its famous potato industry. So, we’re inviting our #BestCommunityEver to join us in hauling Idaho Spuds - our latest World of Trucks event! The community goal is to achieve 200,000 deliveries of either Potatoes or the The Big Idaho Potato; we’ve gone all out to faithfully reproduce this famous truck and trailer, used to advertise and praise Idaho potatoes throughout the United States.

The goal here is simply to have fun #HaulingSpuds and maybe grab a few rewards on the way. We’re sure you’re gonna like what you find. And yes, you can even haul Potatoes cargo using your own trailer in the external market, The Big Idaho Potato, however, is in External contracts only.

Not only do we have the trailer but we've also added the genuine Kenworth T680 paint job to accompany The Big Idaho Potato cargo, available in the game, and we can’t wait to see your pics as you make your deliveries. Don't forget to tag our and The Big Idaho Potato social media profiles (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) too to let them know how much do you like hauling their pride around!

We're also giving 2 special rewards for completing your personal goal which will require 6 deliveries of Potatoes plus 1 more delivery of The Big Idaho Potato, from any of Idaho’s cities.

This event is a chance to be part of the Potato industry which means so very much to so many people, not only in Idaho and not only in the U.S. but all over the world. I mean, who on earth doesn't enjoy a beautifully roasted spud?! So have fun, Haul them Spuds, and see you on the road!

We are aware some truckers are having some difficulty in finding their Potatoes cargo, so we have added the cities to help out. You can find jobs for these cargoes in the cities of Grangeville, Boise, Nampa, Twin Falls and Pocatello in Idaho!

Rules:

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to achieve 200,000 deliveries of either Potatoes cargo or the event-specific, The Big Idaho Potato cargo, from any city in Idaho.

When a player completes 6 deliveries of Potatoes cargo and 1 delivery of the event-specific The Big Idaho Potato cargo, from any city in Idaho, it will complete their personal goal.

Note:

  • The Big Idaho Potato cargo is only available from External Contracts.
  • Potatoes cargo is available from External Contracts or External Market.

All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more.

You can check if your recent deliveries met these conditions using your Log Book in your World of Trucks profile.

Rewards:

  • Personal goal: Individual player contributions of 6 deliveries of Potatoes cargo and 1 delivery of The Big Idaho Potato cargo, from any Idaho city, will gain that player a personal World of Trucks Achievement, and 2 Steam inventory items for their cabin. A yummy Wooden Bowl of fresh crisp potato chips, and an attractive, Idaho unique, Giant Salamander Sticker.
  • Community goal: When the community goal of achieving 200,000 deliveries of either Potatoes cargo or The Big Idaho Potato cargo, from any city in Idaho is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal then they will receive 2 Steam inventory items for their cabin. A specially designed Idaho Nights Air Freshener, and a cute Idaho Potato Sticker.

Note: In order to qualify for the community rewards, you must complete at least your personal goal in American Truck Simulator. Each reward will be a Steam inventory item for American Truck Simulator. Once completed, claim your reward in the Events page on your World of Trucks profile.

The event will be concluded on Sunday the 15th of August at 23:59 UTC.

#CruisingIdaho Extended!

Having received quite a few messages from our #BestCommunityEver about not finding enough free time to finish their personal goal in the currently ongoing #CruisingIdaho World of Trucks event, we started wondering if we should extend its duration a little bit more.

Summer is now in full swing, which means that people are spending more time with their families or on travelling and vacations (well, at least for those who can despite the COVID-19 challenges affecting tourism and travelling in general); many may not have met the requirements needed to obtain the event's rewards. We've also gotten quite a few messages from our players who were getting stuck on trying to reach the event's goal, which meant that they needed more time to successfully complete the event.

We suggest reading the event's rules very carefully. You are asked to pick-up from or deliver a job to all of the 11 cities in Idaho. For example, if you start a job from Boise and complete its delivery to Idaho Falls, this will count as 2 of the 11 cities required for the event's personal goal. However, if you then complete a job from Idaho Falls to Salmon, this job will earn you only 1 additional completed city as Idaho Falls has already served as the start/end point for a previous delivery. You will have to start a delivery from or deliver to all of the 11 cities in Idaho DLC to complete the personal goal. If you're not sure what cities have you had in your recent deliveries, you can always check a few recent jobs you did in the Log Book on World of Trucks website.

After asking our community directly for their opinions on such an extension, we've decided to fulfill these wishes to extend the duration of the #CruisingIdaho event till August 24, 23:59 UTC!

In short, there is now an extra week for all those who could benefit from a bit more time. Don't forget also about the #CaptureIdaho screenshot sharing contest, which is still ongoing. We've been watching our social media profiles and we have to admit that our judges will surely have a difficult task picking the winners; so far we love nearly all of what we've spotted!

The First 5 Days of #CruisingIdaho

Five days ago, we released the latest expansion for American Truck Simulator, the state of Idaho. With its release, we also introduced a very special World of Trucks event for our community, the #CruisingIdaho event.

We wanted to set the community goal to a number which wouldn't put too much pressure on our players while hoping it would last for at least a week or two, but you, our #BestCommunityEver have smashed right through it and have left us speechless once again!

Your amazing support kicked the Idaho DLC to the first position in Global Top Sellers on Steam to steal a few minutes of fame from other big titles (sorry Death Stranding, but not sorry). Thank you so much for your support!

But that was not enough for you, because immediately thousands of you joined the #CruisingIdaho event and the community goal of 30,000,000 miles was completed on Sunday morning, which left us all astonished!

But please do not worry for a second! Because with the community goal finished, it doesn't mean that we are going to end the event anytime soon! We do not want to bring any pressure or make you feel like you have to hurry and rush through this new DLC to complete the personal goal to earn the rewards. Plus we know that many of our players are on their vacation, or simply enjoying the summer away from their rigs. You all can slow down your trucks a bit, open windows, let the fresh Idaho air come to your truck's cabin, and enjoy the view a bit.

The event will conclude on the 16th of August, 2020, 23:59 UTC!

Meanwhile, while you're filling up your tanks or taking a rest at some of the new Idaho rest stops, you can watch some of the community videos created in this latest map expansion! As usual, these below are just a very few of those videos and stream recordings that caught our eyes recently, and if you want to find more, or your favorite streamer or content maker, be sure to check the full list of videos that can be found here.

Idaho Release

The day has come and so has Idaho! Preparations for a release party are in top gear! We are also preparing for a special release stream with special guests. So when exactly is Idaho releasing?

Idaho for American Truck Simulator has been released!

So what exactly does Idaho have to offer? This new expansion features:
  • Over 3,300 miles of new roads to discover and explore
  • 11 new cities - drive through downtown Boise, Coeur d'Alene set on a gorgeous lake or Idaho Falls with a lovely touristic center
  • A brand new viewpoint feature that gives you a new perspective of the world
  • Expanded fan-favorite industries such as farming, timber harvesting or wood processing
  • Visit the famous Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve
  • Over 40 recognizable spots from the Historical Highway Marker program
  • State-specific geographical landmarks such as canyons, valleys or basalt rock formations
  • Many familiar truck stops and rest areas that truckers will know from the real world
  • Finely-tuned road layouts and true-to-life signage
  • Idaho-specific achievements to unlock

And that shouldn't be the only reason to explore the State for yourself! As an added bonus we will also have a World of Trucks event for all new visitors to Idaho with unique rewards to be earned as you visit each city and deliver jobs. Learn more about the rules in our yesterday blog post and take part in #CruisingIdaho at WorldofTrucks.com. We'd love to see your photos across our Social Media channels using the hashtag!

We expect to have this event available to players for an extended period of time, probably way beyond the point of reaching the 30 million miles community goal. We don't want to motivate you to rush through the DLC in a hurry to make sure you manage to obtain the personal achievement. We simply want to reward early adopters of the DLC for spending quality time with the new content.

We will also be hosting a special Idaho release live-stream across Steam & Twitch starting at 15:00 CEST. Don't miss out on this broadcast as we talk with members of the map and research teams involved in the creation of Idaho and a special guest appearance from Pavel Šebor CEO of SCS Software! We will be answering questions from the community, talking in-depth about the DLC and of course, releasing Idaho LIVE on stream!

With the release of Idaho, we will also be making a new special Steam discount bundle available. Introducing the Pacific Northwest bundle which includes the American Truck Simulator base game as well as Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Forest Machinery DLCs, and the Classic Stripes Paint Jobs Pack. The way Steam bundles work, it's both a perfect bundle for any new drivers who are keen to make a start in their new truckin' career, as well as a way for the loyal fans to obtain the new DLC at a nice discount if you already own the previous DLCs.

We hope you enjoy exploring what Idaho has to offer, we will see you on the roads!

Cruising Idaho Event

With the release of the Idaho DLC being tomorrow, July 16, we want to invite you, our #BestCommunityEver, to join us right after, in Cruising Idaho - our latest World Of Trucks event!

We know drivers from around the world are excited to visit Idaho, and we are just as eager for you to get across the border for yourselves. That is why we are happy to announce this new event which will reward drivers who visit the Gem State and contribute to Idaho's local economy and industries.

The most important thing is to be #CruisingIdaho and clocking up the job miles. We promise it will be worth it, with beauty to behold and a rich history to experience. You can even use your own trailer in the external market!

The community goal is simple. Achieve 30,000,000 miles (ca. 48,300,000 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Idaho. Technical supplies, farming produce, mining and transportation equipment, household and building materials, supermarket goods, automotive fleets and parts. In fact, you can deliver anything at all!

During your travels don't forget to stop at some of Idaho's many viewing platforms, each offering unique cinematic cutscenes, highlighting the attractions of that area. There's so much to see that we can't list it all, but here are some we can easily recommend.

  • Take in the magnificent mountain vista of Galena summit.
  • Cruise over the historic Perrine memorial bridge with its majestic views, including the Shosone Falls.
  • Experience the volcanic Craters of the Moon National Monument.
  • Take a snapshot at the famous 45th parallel north, halfway between the Equator and North Pole.
  • See if you can spot Sharlie, the famous serpent, in McCalls' Payette Lake.
  • Navigate through the craggy and imposing Grand View Canyon.
  • Pull over to read some of the many Historical Markers that preserve the history of the early pioneers and Native Americans of Idaho.

There are 11 cities in the Idaho DLC and we want you to see them all. So, we're giving a special reward for completing your personal goal which will require job deliveries to or from all of them.

Both the personal and community rewards are a reflection of Idaho's unique natural history and beauty, and we really think you will like them. But more on that in the rules, so please be sure to read them.

Idaho, Esto Perpetua (It is forever), is our latest addition to American Truck Simulator. Let's see her sites, breathe the air, and take in the grandness of this incredible and varied state.

Rules:

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to achieve 30,000,000 miles (48,280,320 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Idaho.

The cities are:

Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, Grangeville, Salmon, Boise, Ketchum, Idaho Falls, Nampa, Twin Falls, Pocatello.

When a player completes delivery to or from all 11 Idaho cities, it will complete their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more.

To verify if you comply with the rules, you can review your recent deliveries in the World of Trucks' LogBook.

Rewards:

Personal goal: Individual player contributions of deliveries, either to or from all 11 Idaho cities will gain that player a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a beautiful Appaloosa themed ATS truck paint job Steam inventory item.

Community goal: When the community goal of clocking up 30,000,000 miles (48,280,320 km) during deliveries to/from any of the 11 cities in Idaho is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal then they will receive a hanging Peregrine Gem ornament Steam inventory item.

We look forward to seeing drivers new and old exploring Idaho for the first time, and we would love to see photos from your first journeys across the state border! Share your screenshots and videos with us using the hashtag #CruisingIdaho on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram profiles and we will share our favorite ones (we may even feature some of them in an upcoming blog post!).

Idaho will be released on the 16th of July 2020!

We are excited to be able to let drivers explore Idaho for themselves very soon. We hope this short video trailer will keep you content until next week.

If that wasn't enough to get you excited, we also have a gallery of some of the best screenshots from Idaho that have been featured in our previous blog posts along with a few new exclusive photos too. Let us know which one is your favorite in the comments!

With Idaho just around the corner, we wanted to also bring something that drivers in American Truck Simulator can take part in. So you all can expect a very nice World of Trucks in-game event coming live with the release of this map expansion! But more info about that later next week!

We can't wait for you to visit Idaho! If you haven't already, make sure to add Idaho to your Steam wishlist! We thank you for your support and we look forward to welcoming you across the state border very soon.
