The Explorer profile on the Profile selection screen.

The last profile in the game, combining the characteristics of Tech, Biotic and Combat abilities. A perfect choice for chose who want to create a jack of all trades character, capable of taking on any challenge and taking out any enemy the player might stumble upon. It requires 2 / 8 / 18 / 33 / 52 / 78 points invested in Tech, Biotic and Combat skill trees to unlock 1st / 2nd / 3rd / 4th / 5th / 6th level of this profile.

Note - remember that you have to invest the required amount of skill points in all three skill trees; it cannot be a combined value. It means that if you want to unlock, for instance, the 3rd level of Explorer, you have to invest at least 18 points in Tech, 18 points in Biotics and 18 points in Combat.

Below you can find a table showing all of the passive bonuses given to the character when the profile is active, from the first to the sixth level of the Explorer profile.

There are several things worth noting when it comes to the data presented in the table:

  • Tech Recharge Speed - this parameter influences the time needed for a Tech tree ability to recharge after using it. For instance, ability with recharge time of 10 seconds and 20% Tech Recharge Speed on a character will have its recharge time reduced by 2 seconds, requiring 8 seconds to get off cooldown.
  • Power Restoration and Defense - it affects some of the abilities from the all of the skill trees. "Restoration" influences, for instance, the amount of shield points you will receive after hitting the enemy with Charge or Energy Drain abilities. "Defense", on the other hand, has impact on the amount of health points your shield generated by the Backlash ability will have, or the amount of health constructs created by Remnant VI and Assault Turret will have.

This profile gives access to a single passive ability called Biotic Blink. This changes the dodge mechanic entirely - now the character will teleport over longer distances than when using a "regular" dodge. Additionally, you will be capable of teleporting through solid matter - like huge boulders, barriers and buildings elements.

The Explorer profile is a perfect choice for a player that wants to create a jack of all trades character, capable of dealing significant damage with firearms and melee attacks, using powerful biotic abilities against enemies and utilizing abilities from the Tech tree simultaneously. Additionally, it gives a rather large Damage Resistance. The only drawback to this profile is the amount of skill points you have to invest in it for it to become useful. Because of that you shouldn't use this profile before you reach at least 25-30 level of experience.
