Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings Sekiro guide, walkthrough

Last update: 08 April 2019

On this page of the guide for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice we have provided a description of the Shura game ending. This is one of the four main endings of the game. We explain how to unlock it and what are the necessary actions and battles that are associated with it.

How to get the Shura ending?

You can unlock it pretty easy in comparison to other endings - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

You can unlock it pretty easy in comparison to other endings. Only this ending lets you avoid the final dual with the scariest boss of the game - Isshin, the Sword Saint. But do not think that you will easily see this ending, cause for a change you have to deal with the other two bosses.

This finale can be unlocked after you advance to the very end of the game - after you find all the items for Kuro. After returning to the Ashina Castle, you will find that he was attacked. You need to penetrate through castle' chambers, until once again you get to the roof of the castle, where previously you defeated- Genichiro Ashina boss.

This time the main character on the roof will meet his father, who is Great Shinobi - Owl. You have to approach him and then during the conversation select the first option - Forsake Kuro.

Final boss 1 Emma, the Gentle Blade

The result of the decision will end in fight with the two final bosses of the game, which are associated with this end. The first boss to eliminate is Emma, the Gentle Blade, that is the same woman that the hero had previously met, for example, in order to deal with gourd business.

Emma, the Gentle Blade is an average demanding boss who has only one health bar - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

Emma, the Gentle Blade is an average demanding boss who has only one health bar. That means she will die by performing just one fatal blow on her.

Emma uses a katana to attack you. These are not only some standard blows of course. The series of very fast attacks are very dangerous, especially since the boss is able to drastically reduce the distance between the player and herself. In addition, Emma also uses an attack that can't be blocked, which is signaled, of course, by a red symbol. This is the push associated with the jump to the hero.

You can fight Emma according to the typical combat rules: focus on achieving perfect parries, and thus attempt to significantly weaken her Posture bar - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

You can fight Emma according to the typical combat rules: focus on achieving perfect parries, and thus attempt to significantly weaken her Posture bar. However, there is a safer way to defeat Emma. Namely, even before the attack, you can set the Shadowrush as the active martial art. Emma can't protect herself from that strong thrust. Simply trigger the Shadowrush after her failed attack, and once it reaches her, quickly close in on her, so she has no opportunity to counterattack. You can repeat this pattern until you kill her.

It's very important to survive this fight with minimal health losses and consuming as few medications and other consumables as possible. Immediately after the victory over Emma, comes the fight with the second boss - Isshin Ashina. The game will not allow you to save the progress, nor have any respite. Defeating Isshin will be much more difficult without enough supplies.

Final boss 2 - Isshin Ashina

The fight with Isshin Ashina starts automatically after defeating Emma. The game will not allow you to relax after the victory over Emma, which means that both bosses need to be eliminated almost in a one, fell swoop.

Isshin Ashina, unlike Emma, is marked with two markers, which means that to defeat him, you need to perform two deadly attacks - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

Isshin Ashina, unlike Emma, is marked with two markers, which means that to defeat him, you need to perform two deadly attacks.

This boss also uses the katana to deal damage. Isshin can first of all very quickly approach the hero and deliver three swings of his weapon. Your response should either be parrying all three attacks, or making a dodge. When it comes to close-quarters, the boss uses two attacks, one right after the other.

The boss sometimes launches an attack marked with a red symbol. In that case, just dodge backwards and don't take the risks. Isshin also has an identical skill as Emma. He's able to deliver a series of very fast attacks that leave white smudges in the air (like in the picture above).

You can defeat Isshin using the same strategy as with Emma - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

You can defeat Isshin using the same strategy as with Emma. To remind you, it involves dependence on the active martial art called Shadowrush. Each time Isshin completes a series of attacks, you can trigger this skill, that is, make a strong thrust. You will deliver one hit, and then you must immediately jump back to prevent the boss from hitting yourself - this action requires some practice, but once well mastered, it guarantees one hundred percent effectiveness. It's also worth eating the Ako's Sugar, so that each your attack will deal more damage.

Alternatively, you can focus on filling the boss' Posture bar by parrying his attacks. This strategy also requires a solid practicing, especially since many attacks of the boss are delivered immediately after his momentary charge, which can take you by surprise easily.

After advancing to the second stage of the battle, Isshin will receive new skills, namely fire attacks - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

After advancing to the second stage of the battle, Isshin will receive new skills, namely fire attacks. They appear in three different variations.

The most serious form of fire attack is setting the entire arena on fire. Quickly stand in the place where there is no flame and leap towards the boss as soon as he activates his attack with the blade rotating in all directions (the attack is marked with a red icon, but it may be difficult to see it). With a bit of luck, you will not only avoid injuries, but also be able to jump on the boss and weaken his Posture with a kick.

Two other fire attacks of Isshin - Shura | Sekiro Shadows Die Twice endings - Game Endings - Sekiro Guide and Walkthrough

Two other fire attacks of Isshin:

  1. Sending a strip of fire in the direction of the hero (example in figure 1). Quickly jump aside as soon as you notice that the boss is preparing for this attack.
  2. Setting the area directly in front of the boss on fire (the example in figure 2). Quickly dodge back and do not approach Isshin until the flame disappears.

If you come into contact with flames, the hero can be set on fire and receive the Burn debuff. Then quickly use Red Gourd to stop the process of losing the next health points.

Defeating eating Isshin Ashina will automatically launch the Shura ending cutscene. You will also get a trophy associated with this ending.
