Anri (Anri of Astora) Dark Souls III Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

Road of Sacrifices

Behind the bridge you will find a bonfire. - Anri (Anri of Astora) - Quests and NPCs - Dark Souls III Game Guide & Walkthrough
Behind the bridge you will find a bonfire.

The first chance to meet Anri and Horace is in the Road of Sacrifices, more precisely near the Halfway Fortress bonfire. Speak with them and you will receive the Blue Sentinels covenant.

Firelink Shrine

Anri and Horace will appear in the Firelink Shrine after the battle with Deacons of the Deep. After the conversation with them they will inform you that they are going to the Catacombs of Carthus.

Catacombs of Carthus

The place where you encounter Anri for the first time. - Anri (Anri of Astora) - Quests and NPCs - Dark Souls III Game Guide & Walkthrough
The place where you encounter Anri for the first time.

Anri can be encountered in the catacombs twice. The first occasion is before entering the bridge on which a ball consisting of undead falls. When you have the road down to the bridge in front of you, turn to the corridor on the left. Behind the passage few skeletons will be reborn and below you will find Anri. She will inform you that Horace has gone missing.

Before the bridge which you can destroy there is a narrow path on the right that leads slightly higher. - Anri (Anri of Astora) - Quests and NPCs - Dark Souls III Game Guide & Walkthrough

The second occasion is before walking through the wooden bridge. Simply turn behind the rocks to the right, slightly higher, when you're before the bridge. Anri will be still looking for Horace.

Smouldering Lake

The next point of the trip is to find Horace - Anri (Anri of Astora) - Quests and NPCs - Dark Souls III Game Guide & Walkthrough

The next point of the trip is to find Horace. After entering the Smouldering Lake location (the destroyed bridge serves as a ladder below, the entrance is behind the large room with a fire demon in the middle) stick to the right side and go near the rocks until you reach the place shown on the screen. In the wall you will find a passage that leads to a closed area in which you will encounter Horace. In order to continue the quest you must kill him.

Note: If you don't find Horace or don't tell Anri about his whereabouts, she will go to the Church of Yorshka and the quest will continue.

Note 2: If you find Horace but don't kill him (you run away instead) and tell Anri about where he is, then Anri will die (after the battle with High Lord Wolnir). You will find her body near Horace who will still be aggressive. At her body you will find Anri's Straight Sword.

Irithyll of the Boreal Valley (Church of Yorshka)

You must decide the fate of Anri at the bonfire, before you leave the church. - Anri (Anri of Astora) - Quests and NPCs - Dark Souls III Game Guide & Walkthrough
You must decide the fate of Anri at the bonfire, before you leave the church.

If you followed Anri quest you will find her at the Church of Yorshka bonfire. Speak with her in order to receive the Ring of the Evil Eye and Quiet Resolve gesture as a token of appreciation for help in searching Horace. Now you must decide (during your first visit, before leaving the church) how to continue the quest:

1. One of the statues in the corner of the room is in fact a killer from Londor (if you followed Yoel's quest and Yuria appeared in his place in the Firelink Shrine). Don't kill him if you want to have an optional ending (Anri will die after you leave the church).

2. Kill the hidden killer (he will drop a Chameleon spell). The quest will continue (Anri will survive), but you won't be able to obtain the ending described in option 1).

The road to Anor Londo (option 1, Anri is dead)

The ceremony awaits. - Anri (Anri of Astora) - Quests and NPCs - Dark Souls III Game Guide & Walkthrough
The ceremony awaits.

If you haven't killed the assassin, you can speak to Yuria in the Firelink Shrine. Then, during the journey to Anor Londo (it's actually still the Irithyll in the Boreal Valley location, this part is unlocked after the battle with Pontiff Sulyvahn) you must use the roofs to reach the chamber from which you can go left (the tower that leads to Anor Londo) or to the right, to the giant room.

Before the entrance you will find the Londor killer who after a conversation will give you the sword. Walk inside - at the end you will find an altar with dead Anri. Walk towards her in order to start the ritual (related to the ending in which you become the Lord of Hollows. You will also receive three Dark Sigils). Speak once more with Yuria and then continue the game till the end when you kill the last boss and light the fire.

Note: During the next visit in this location the killer will be dead and at his body you will find the Chameleon spell. At the altar, instead of Anri, you will find Anri's Straight Sword.

Anor Londo (option 2, Anri is alive)

If Anri is alive, you can be summoned before the battle with Aldrich (move to her world). Then, after winning the battle (when the ghost survived), speak to Ludleth in order to receive Anri's Straight Sword. Finally you will find Anri in one of two places, depending on whether you told her about Horace's fate and that you killed him. If yes, then you will find her in the place where Horace was before in the Smouldering Lake. If you haven't told her anything, then Anri will be in the Cathedral of the Deep, on the hill near the first lake. In both case she will be aggressive towards you.
